What does the treatment involve?
A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. A trigger point in the back, for example, may produce referral pain in the neck.
The trigger point therapy treatment at our clinic in Chipping Norton consists of direct and controlled pressure, to temporarily stop the blood flow to the trigger point.
This treatment will be incorporated into a Deep Tissue or Sports Massage, and sometimes during Myofascial Release if needed.
What results can I expect?
Trigger points can be caused from injury or stress to the muscle. They can be released with direct and controlled pressure, to temporarily stop blood flow to the trigger point. When released, the area is flooded with fresh blood and nutrients, freeing up the contraction and alleviating the pain.
Is this treatment right for me?
